Husband's anyone?

Believe it or not, I write this to more of my female bloggers, to look for a man like this.  If he isn't trying to become something like this, I wouldn't waste my time.  Why do I keep referring to the man as a this?  Cause the scriptural representation of us as husbands is actually.... Jesus, in relation to the Church (Let me know if anyone wants a blog on that crazy phenomena as found in scripture).  This is someone we know we can't be, but we can try harder each day and the Spirit will grow our fruits, and make us more suitable companions :)  The passage is found in Ephesians 5:25-33, not quite as long, but I'm guessing just as convicting to the fellows as Proverbs 31:10-31 was for the ladies.  Reality check time now guys, are you meeting any standards at all yet?  Again I'll break it down as best as I can for us, but I would urge others to read and figure out the truths themselves, surely I am missing something yall could catch me on....

Ok Starting with Ephesians 5:25- Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.
Interpretted: quite literal.  If you read a little earier in 22, the Husband has authority over the wife, but this passage shows what kind of epic responsibility we have to perform for yall.  We gotta love you like Christ loves his Church, the people he died for on the cross.  We gotta be able to be selfless, serving and completely whole-heartedly loving like Christ.  This is the ABSOLUTE STANDARD (No question's asked) of a husband's love for his wife (Read Colossians 3:19 for more kindness of the husband to his wife.)

5:26- to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water in the word,
Interpretted as:  Incredibly difficultly.  I did some homework on this passage, and it is the standard by which a  husband's faithfullness to God and in his authority guides her in the way of the Word.  Grace would be a fitting name, as a husband it is my duty to not want my wife to lead a sinful life, therefore I should make the call to heal her hurts and lead her to purity, when she stumbles, so she more accurately reflects Jesus.  It basically shows our care for her in a sense that WE WON'T LET HER FAIL, using God's perfect word.  It is again another duty of ours.

5:27- And to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any blemish, but holy and blameless.
Interpretted as:  Kind of an offshoot of what I said about 26, but the interesting thing is that the woman is made blameless much like the one in Proverbs 31.

5:28- In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies.  He who loves his wife loves himself.
Interpretted as: Convicting!  This passage is EXACTLY the brilliant picture of Genesis 2:24 this is holy union, this is what God wants for us.  Here is the kicker, this verse (since it is still referring to Jesus) is stating a hidden meaning.  The meaning is this: This should be totally natural for us guys.....  We shouldn't have to think about it, he who loves his own body?  I love my body (this is getting kind of wierd) in a sense I will ALWAYS care for it, without second thought.  Read later in 29 the implications are actually more so than youself, it is a self sacrificing love.  She always get's put first...  I'll explain

5:29- After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church-
Interpretted as:  Both a physical and Spiritual sense.  You are to care for her needs in the physical and emotional known world, as well as provide the security needed like Christ does in his Church.  You are to both help each other grow in Christ which is the Spiritual sense of feed and care.

5:30- for we are members of his body.
Interpretted as: THEOLOGICAL and CONVICTING.  His Church is inseperrable to his body, in a sense he cares for her and cannot ever seperate himself from, himself....  I'll explain it differently, the Church is to bring Glory to Christ (sound familiar to Proverbs 31?)  In a sense of this...  The man in caring for his wife (the 2 are now sanctioned in one union in an inseperable intimate Holy Union of Genesis 2:24 flesh or a.k.a his own body) actually cares for himself....  You have to dig for that one....  It is again showing the man in a sacrificial loving way that Jesus was.

5:31- "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh."
Interpretted as: Quote, from YOU GUESSED IT Genesis 2:24: A key word is the word joined.  This literally meant together, glued, cannot become 1 and 1 again.  Divorce WILL NOT EXSIST in this sanction.

5:32- This is a profound mystery- but I am talking about Christ and the Church.
Interpretted as: Folly on one hand and incredibly cool and revelationary on the other.  Paul admits right here he doesn't totally get it, that is the folly.  The Revelationary part is this.  This is a newfound truth of the New testament that the Old Testament either Neglected or had no idea about.  The idea of Genesis 2:24 was obviously lost somewhere in the great kings of Israel, but the Christ and his Church is the original blueprints for success.  This is what God always wanted marriage to be.  Mystery can be interpretted as revelationary if you will.

5:33- However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
Interpretted as:  Reinforcing previous truths.  Paul isn't making a new claim here, he is summing up exactly what believers in mariage should imitate, and how the Husband bares the role of self sacrificial love of Christ for his Church.  The Woman respecting the believing man as being his glory.

There you go, hope that wasn't to rough on anybody.  I got convicted a litte, but I am totally aiming for that kind of awesome character stature.....  I dunno. I don't feel like typing, I'ma go pray..  Laters...
